Ann Arbor, Michigan | May 11, 2023
The show opened up with Charles Winston making his way to the ring. He grabbed a microphone and announced that GWC had made a signing earlier in the week and he was here to announce who it was.
"Say So" by Doja Cat played over the arena speakers as Charles Winston announced that the signing was Ann Arbor's own, Maria Miller!
Maria made her way to the ring full of energy. She slid in the ring and grabbed the microphone from Charles Winston. She let the crowd know how grateful and excited she was for the opportunity, and that she couldn't wait to show them what she's got.
The crowd applauded as she made her way to the backstage area. She gave high-fives to the fans and took pictures with them on her way up the entrance ramp.
Elijah Matthews vs Sebastian León
These men both lost in the first round of the GWC World Championship Tournament and didn't really get much of a chance to show the crowd what all they had in their repertoires.
The match started fairly slow, as they tried to get a feel for how the other would approach the match. After a while, the action and pace picked up.
Elijah ran at Sebastian, going for an intense clothesline but Sebastian ducked. He was almost able to turn it into his Straitjacket Backstabber, but Elijah managed to escape.
Sebastian was eventually able to catch Elijah with a Superkick, but Elijah fell out of the ring before Sebastian could make the cover.
Elijah recovered on the outside and got to his feet. He entered the ring and ran at Sebastian. Sebastian went for a clothesline this time, but Elijah also ducked. After ducking, he kept running, jumped off the ropes and hit a Springboard European Uppercut that turned Sebastian inside-out. Elijah flipped him over and grabbed his legs, going for a Cloverleaf. He successfully locked the move in and after a while, Sebastian had no choice but to tap. Elijah Matthews was the winner!
In the Ring
Kaleb Kraven made his way to the ring with visible frustration on his face. He grabbed a microphone and made it clear that he was looking for answers from Daniel Matthews. He stood in the ring and waited for Daniel to come out but was disappointed to see Dalton Vito's face pop up on the titantron. Dalton explained that Daniel wouldn't be coming out because Kaleb wasn't worth Daniel or Dalton's time.
Kaleb told Dalton that if Daniel wasn't going to come out, then Dalton should come out, because Kaleb is looking for a fight.
Dalton further explained that he wasn't going anywhere, as he was in his hotel room having a nice night with his girlfriend Morgan.
Kaleb threw the microphone down and left the ring, still visibly frustrated, then headed to the back.
Clementine Fairchild and Tempest Saint vs Arden Blair and Chloe Cooper
Clementine Fairchild and Tempest Saint talked to Charles Winston yesterday and expressed interest in teaming together, and he granted them their wish with this match.
Clementine and Tempest controlled most of the match, seeing as they were closer with each other than the team of Arden and Chloe, but Arden and Chloe still managed to keep it fairly competitive.
Clementine and Chloe wrestled back and forth in the ring, with Clementine getting the upper hand. Clementine hit her Sunset Flip Powerbomb and went for the pin, but on the apron, Arden had the referee distracted. Tempest made her way over and pulled Arden off the apron, and the two started trading strikes on the outside.
Clementine still had control over Chloe in the ring, but right as she went for another Sunset Flip Powerbomb, Lucy Bishop ran down to the ring and slid in. Lucy blasted Clementine with a punch in the face and continued the attack on the ground. Tempest and Arden were still fighting on the outside.
The referee called for the bell and tried to pull Lucy off of Clementine, but she hit him with an elbow and continued punching Clementine. Chloe stood in the ring and laughed, applauding Lucy.
"Say So" by Doja Cat played over the speakers for the second time in the night and Maria Miller ran down to the ring. She slid in and traded punches with Chloe, eventually throwing Chloe out of the ring and focusing on Lucy, who had finally gotten off of Clementine. She ran towards Lucy and hit her with a beautiful tilt-a-whirl DDT that sent Lucy out of the ring. Maria then hit the ropes and hit a suicide dive on Arden on the outside.
Maria brought Tempest back in the ring and the two checked on Clementine. Maria and Tempest helped Clementine back to her feet and the three stood tall in the middle of the ring.
Arden, Chloe, and Lucy stood together on the outside, glaring at the three in the ring before heading backstage.
Maria stood between Clementine and Tempest, raising their hands high as the audience applauded all three of them.
Backstage
The scene cut backstage where Jonah Winston entered his father Charles' office and sat down across from him. Jonah asked Charles to explain himself and Charles played ignorant. Jonah asked Charles why he interfered in his match against Terry Martin a few weeks ago and caused him to lose.
Charles explained that prior to the match, Jonah told him that he didn't need help and that he didn't appreciate Jonah's tone of voice and attitude, so he made Jonah pay.
Jonah told Charles that he felt like that was a stupid way to try to deal with a problem. The two continued arguing back and forth and it eventually turned into yelling. Jonah got up and stormed out of his father's office, slamming the door shut behind him.
Terry Martin vs Deontay Breen vs Alonzo Atkins vs Mateo Delgado vs Jonah Winston vs Liam Knight vs Jeremy Nordin vs Joey Capriglione | GWC Television Championship Battle Royal
This match was chaotic, as most battle royals are. All eight men fought for control, but also tried their best to stay in the ring.
The first elimination came when Joey Capriglione shocked the audience by throwing Terry Martin out of the ring.
Tournament opponents Deontay Breen and Alonzo Atkins then both clotheslined Mateo Delgado over the top rope and onto the floor.
Charles Winston eventually made his way down to the ring and stood at ringside, watching the match. Jonah started to yell at Charles, but decided to turn back around and focus on the match. Jonah picked up Joey Capriglione, hit a Codebreaker, then threw him out of the ring. He then went over to the side of the ring that Charles was standing by and started boasting to him. He turned around again and came face-to-face with Liam Knight. The two started trading strikes back and forth.
Deontay Breen and Alonzo Atkins' alliance was short-lived, and the two had started fighting as well. Jeremy Nordin sat in the corner, avoiding any fighting, with a smug look on his face.
Jonah and Liam's fight had gotten closer to the ropes and eventually, Jonah threw Liam over the ropes, right in front of Charles. Jonah began boasting to Charles again, but it went on for too long this time as Jeremy Nordin quickly got up and scooped Jonah over the ropes, eliminating him. Charles looked down at his son and laughed, then walked to the backstage area. Jonah laid on the ground, obviously frustrated.
Deontay and Alonzo's fight had also gotten close to ropes. Deontay put Alonzo against them and ran to the other side of the ring and hit the ropes. But before he could get back to where Alonzo was, Jeremy Nordin had already ran into Alonzo with a clothesline that sent him out of the ring. Thinking quickly on his feet, Deontay extended his arm and delivered a clothesline of his own, eliminating Jeremy.
Deontay Breen is the GWC Television Champion!
Deontay grabbed a microphone and exclaimed to the crowd that even if he wasn't given the same spotlight as all the other champions, he would outshine them and make the Television Championship the most prestigious championship in GWC. He tossed the microphone out of the ring and headed to the back, holding the belt up for all the audience to see as the show came to a close.
