GWC Defiance Madison, Wisconsin | May 25 , 2023 Ayako Masaki vs Morgan Kennedy Despite what fans may think of Morgan Kennedy, she held her own in this match, although Ayako Masaki seemed to still out-wrestle Morgan. The two wrestled back and forth, getting the crowd invested, ultimately rooting for Ayako. When Ayako seemed to have the match won, Ubel Kol came down to the ring to distract her. But not long after he came down, Seara Iverson did as well, steel chair in hand. She took a swing at the back of Ubel, who barely flinched. Ubel turned around and stood, staring at Seara. Ayako was still distracted by this whole situation, which gave Morgan an opportunity to roll Ayako up with a schoolboy. The referee counted three and Morgan sprang to her feet in excitement. GWC Defiance Detroit, Michigan | May 18 , 2023 Maria Miller vs Lucy Bishop Maria Miller made her way down to the ring with Clementine Fairchild and Tempest Saint by her side, and Lucy Bishop brought Arden Blair and Chloe Cooper. Lucy started the match very cautious, seeing as she wasn't familiar with Maria's style. Maria used Lucy's uncertainty and hesitance to her advantage. The two began chain wrestling, with Maria seeming to get the upper hand, which frustrated Lucy, who stopped chain wrestling and had now started a full-on assault on Maria. She was able to take Maria to the ground and laid into her with punches. Maria was able to slowly crawl her way to the rope and the referee had to pull Lucy off. Maria slid out onto the apron and stood up. Lucy and the referee's argument had stopped and she made her way over to Maria, who hit her with a rope-assisted enzuigiri, which caused her to stumble back toward the center of the ring. He grabbed a microphone and announced that GWC had made a signing earlier in the week and he was here to announce who it was. "Say So" by Doja Cat played over the arena speakers as Charles Winston announced that the signing was Ann Arbor's own, Maria Miller! Maria made her way to the ring full of energy. She slid in the ring and grabbed the microphone from Charles Winston. She let the crowd know how grateful and excited she was for the opportunity, and that she couldn't wait to show them what she's got. The crowd applauded as she made her way to the backstage area. GWC Defiance Chicago, Illinois | May 4 , 2023 Clementine Fairchild vs Tempest Saint These two women had been showing their respect for each other the past few weeks and even seemed to be developing a friendship, which made this match very entertaining. Clementine went for a roll up fairly early on, but Tempest kicked out. Both women laughed afterwards. Clementine gained control a bit later into the match and even hit a Sunset Flip Powerbomb, which only got her a two count. Clementine eventually tried going for another one, but Tempest was able to avoid it and hit her with a massive big boot. She then ascended the turnbuckles and hit a Swanton Bomb that got her the three count and the win. The two met in the middle of the ring and showed respect for each other once again with a hug.
