GWC Defiance

Boston, Massachusetts | March 30, 2023

The show opened with the owner of GWC, Charles Winston, in the ring with a microphone. He thanked the fans in attendance and the fans watching on television for tuning into the show. He announced two tournaments. One to crown the first World Champion and one to crown the first Women's World Champion. He announced that the tournaments would be starting tonight and would continue weekly until the champions were crowned. The crowd cheered in excitement, and Winston left the ring to let the night's action get under way.

Darren Emerson vs Liam Knight

Darren Emerson's athletic, high-flying style and Liam Knight's brawling, strike-based style made for an interesting match-up. Knight tried to keep the fight on the ground but couldn't seem to catch Emerson. In the end, it was Darren Emerson getting the win after hitting the Release Tiger Bomb for the three-count.

Haley Storm vs Arden Blair

Haley Storm looked to come out and have the same luck as her boyfriend Darren Emerson, who just wrestled the previous match. Arden Blair had other plans though. Storm used her athleticism to try to gain an advantage, but Arden had an answer for almost everything thrown her way. Arden eventually caught Storm with her finishing move, the One Night Stand, and got the pinfall victory.

Kaleb Kraven vs Ubel Kol

Ubel Kol had an obvious size and power advantage over Kaleb Kraven, but Kaleb used mostly evasive moves to avoid getting caught by Kol. It worked fairly well for him. But when his longtime rival Dalton Vito's music hit, his focus left the match and fixated on the entrance ramp allowing Ubel Kol an opportunity to hit his Sit-out Last Ride Powerbomb. He hit the move and stood back up to put his foot on Kraven's chest for a three-count.

After the match, Dalton Vito came out laughing and clapping, microphone in hand. He told Kaleb that their match in FFP was the only time he would ever get to claim a victory over Dalton Vito. He claimed that that match was a fluke, and that Kaleb would pay the price. He then dropped the microphone and headed to the ring. He slid in and started punching an already beaten-down Kraven. Kaleb's girlfriend Seara Iverson and his best friend Darren Emerson ran down to the ring, but Dalton quickly got out of the ring before they got there. He hopped over the barricade and started yelling at the three in the ring. Seara and Darren checked on Kaleb in the ring, and eventually, Darren helped Kaleb to the back. Seara looked concerned, but stayed in the ring because she had a match up next.

Seara Iverson vs Kennedy Monroe

Seara stood in the ring and looked furious at what had just transpired. As soon as the bell rang, Seara ran at Kennedy and tackled her. She laid into Kennedy with rapid punches. Seara got up and let out a yell. Kennedy was able to get to her feet using the ropes, but wasn't up for long before getting hit with a running knee. Kennedy hit the mat and was able to roll out of the ring, hoping for a break, but Seara quickly followed. The overwhelming offense continued and eventually Seara hit a Canadian Destroyer in the center of the ring for the pinfall victory. She grabbed a microphone and told Dalton Vito to leave the arena before she got backstage, or he was going to have hell to pay.

Backstage

The scene cut to the backstage area where paramedics were checking on an unconscious Colton Riggs, who was supposed to be in the next match. GWC Owner Charles Winston stood behind the paramedics and asked if any of them knew what happened but none of them did. Jeremy Nordin, the man who was supposed to face Colton, approached Charles Winston and asked what this meant for him in the tournament. Winston told him that he'd find an opponent to replace Colton by the end of the night. Jeremy went to walk away, but Winston grabbed his shoulder and turned him back around. Winston told Jeremy that he was the main suspect for whatever happened to Colton. Jeremy rolled his eyes and walked away.

Clementine Fairchild vs Tempest Saint

Clementine Fairchild is small, but that's no reason to count her out. These two were very evenly matched and put on a great match that had the crowd on their feet. Tempest finally gained an advantage and was setting up for what looked like a Powerbomb, but Clementine was able to escape. She quickly rolled Saint up with a schoolboy pin for a three count. Clementine looked shocked after getting the win and Tempest sat up and smirked, as if to say, "you got me." The two met in the middle of the ring and hugged as the crowd cheered. Saint lifted Clementine's arm and then joined the crowd's applause.

??? vs Jeremy Nordin

Jeremy Nordin made his way to the ring first and waited to see who his new opponent would be. After waiting for a little while, "Trying To Find A Balance" by Atmosphere played over the arena speakers and Jeremy Nordin, along with the audience, was introduced to Pandora. She entered the ring and stood face-to-face with Jeremy. Jeremy looked both confused and surprised.

The bell rang and Pandora immediately made a statement by delivering a clothesline that rocked Jeremy. She stood over him and flexed. He let out a frustrated laugh and got up, only to be met with another clothesline. Pandora went for a pin but only got a two-count.

Nordin was able to find his stride and slow down Pandora's momentum when he caught her with a dropkick that sent her out of the ring. He started showboating to the crowd as Pandora collected herself outside of the ring.

She got back into the ring while Nordin was still showing off to the crowd. When he turned around, he was met with a Spear from Pandora that got her another two-count, this one closer than the last. She picked him up and he poked her in the eyes, which allowed him to get some momentum back.

He hit a flying crossbody from the top rope but only got a two-count out of it. He slowed the match down with a headlock on the mat. Pandora repeatedly hit the canvas and the crowd joined in with claps. She rolled Jeremy onto his shoulders for a count and he kicked out, which forced him to break up the headlock.

She rallied back, hitting him with clotheslines and punches. She attempted a back body drop but he was able to land on his feet. He turned around and went for a clothesline that missed, which allowed her to hit the ropes and hit him with another Spear. But before she could make the cover, he rolled out of the ring. She laid in the ring for a bit, frustrated, but eventually rolled out. She approached Nordin on the ground and as she got closer, he poked her in the eyes again.

He put her in another headlock and started punching her in the face repeatedly. The crowd booed and let him know that they didn't approve of his tactics. He laughed at them and threw Pandora over the commentary table. He walked over to a young fan and grabbed his bag of popcorn. He then grabbed a steel chair and set it up in the ring to eat the popcorn on it.

Not long after, Pandora stood back up and flipped the commentary table in frustration. Jeremy looked over like he had seen a ghost. He threw the bag of popcorn out of the ring and at her, which only infuriated her more. She got back in the ring and hit Nordin with a massive big boot. She grabbed the chair that was still in the middle of the ring and threw it up the entrance ramp. She grabbed Nordin, who was struggling to get to his feet and set up for a Powerbomb. She flexed to the crowd before hoisting him up and forcefully throwing him down, successfully connecting with the Powerbomb. She covered him and the ref counted to three. Pandora had won and would be advancing in the World Title Tournament.

GWC Spotlight: Arden Blair

GWC Spotlight #2:  Arden Blair Arden Blair has been a dominant force on the GWC roster since the company's inception. She was the first woman to win a match for the company. After a loss in the semifinals of the GWC Women's World Championship Tournament, she has been on a mean streak, taking the GWC Women's roster down one-by-one. The only person who has really seemed to have her number is Maria Miller, who has been on a hot streak of her own. But with Chloe Cooper and Lucy Bishop by her side, it's going to be even more difficult to slow Arden Blair down. She may not be the most honest or moral person on the roster, but it's almost certain that championship gold is in her future. And for that, we're giving her the Spotlight. We know she'll love it.

GWC Defiance Madison, Wisconsin | May 25 , 2023 Ayako Masaki vs Morgan Kennedy Despite what fans may think of Morgan Kennedy, she held her own in this match, although Ayako Masaki seemed to still out-wrestle Morgan. The two wrestled back and forth, getting the crowd invested, ultimately rooting for Ayako. When Ayako seemed to have the match won, Ubel Kol came down to the ring to distract her. But not long after he came down, Seara Iverson did as well, steel chair in hand. She took a swing at the back of Ubel, who barely flinched. Ubel turned around and stood, staring at Seara. Ayako was still distracted by this whole situation, which gave Morgan an opportunity to roll Ayako up with a schoolboy. The referee counted three and Morgan sprang to her feet in excitement. Ubel turned around and headed into the ring to hold Morgan's arm up. Ayako slid out of the ring and Seara checked on her.
